A map showing the predominant language families of the world by country.
This map is a companion to my Language Family and Branches Map.
1. Due to the sheer amount of linguistic diversity their is not always universal agreement among linguists on where certain languages or language branches fit or, in some cases on the existence of Language Families as such I have tried to go with the theories that have the widest support with the exception of Altaic (the existence of which is debated itself), that is the Japanic and Koreanic families are included in the Altaic language family by many proponents, however it is in my opinion that this is in folly and as such I count them as language isolates.
2. While it's to small to do so Singapore should be striped Sino-Tibetan and Indo-European as the two families combined represent first languages spoken by more than 80% of Singapores population.
