Description

A map showing the major Transnational Currencies (those used in more than 2 countries) as of 2012.

With the exception of the Eurozone countries, none of these are Monetary Unions, that is the countries have all adopted or kept the currency of a larger country, but have no power or say in banking and financial decisions that effect the currency.

NOTES;

-Zimbabwe officially suspended its own currency in 2009 since hyperinflation made it totally useless, as a result the U.S. Dollar, Euro, Rand and Botswanan Pula are now the primary currencies, however the Zimbabwean government officially uses the U.S. Dollar for all its transactions and payments.

-The CFA Franc is technically two currencies, the West CFA Franc and East CFA Franc, however they've been tied together since they're creation (meaning they're equal in worth) and are used interchangeably and it's incredibly unlikely this will ever change until one or both join the to be created Ecozone along with the rest of the ECOWAS countries.

-Their are three cases of two countries sharing a currency not shown, they are; North Cyprus & Turkey, Switzerland & Liechtenstein and Singapore & Brunei.

-Additionally Palestine uses the currencies of Israel, Jordan and Egypt.

-The CFP Franc (not shown), an internal currency (IE it's not used by any country) is used in the French territories of New Caledonia, Fr. Polynesia and Wallis & Futuna.
